Bonnie was owned and shown by my daughter, Karen, who from the age of 10 trained and handled her. Together they had many successes in both the breed and junior handling ring, taking many BPIB, BOBs and other awards at open show level and gaining places and qualifying for Crufts at Championship shows. Her young age didn't stop Karen from entering herself in the Junior Handling classes in the times when entries were taken on the day of the show. Karen's highlight was when she was shortlisted to the last six in the Junior Handling semi final at Richmond, which is when the above photograph was taken. They were also successful at obedience with the local dog training club, winning the club's obedience competition trophy on several occasions. Karen continued to show Bonnie until the time came for her to complete her A levels and move on to university. Bonnie passed away at the age of 13.
This
photograph was taken when Bonnie was 10
months old. The trophies on the table include the
obedience trophy won at Grantham Dog Training
Club, and trophies for BPIB, BOS and Best Gundog
Puppy all won at the West Torrington & DCS
show on 22 February 1987, the breed judge was Mrs
E Ingram with Mr Muirhead judging the Best Gundog
Puppy.

This photograph was taken of Bonnie just after she had her thirteenth birthday, a few months later her health deteriorated and she peacefully passed away.
